Share some real Christmas cheer.

If you are one of the fortunate ones in the US who still has a job let me suggest some ways you can bring some cheer to those who are struggling at this time of year.

  1. Volunteer for an hour or two at a Homeless shelter.
  2. Bring a week's worth of groceries around to a needy neighbor.
  3. Take your kids to Wal-Mart and have them use their pocket money to buy a toy for a needy child.
  4. Invite neighbor kids to a movie or a night of video games if the family is suffering financially.
  5. Donate your old books, clothes, and furniture to the Salvation Army or GoodWill instead of selling or trashing them.
  6. Look up all the local charities and see what their needs are at this time of year. You will be surprised how much you can contribute that doesn't cost anything.
  7. Invite a neighbor out for a meal at a local restaurant.
  8. Offer to pay the heating bill for an elderly couple or a family in need.
  9. Bring over a Christmas hamper to a family in need.
Once you put your brain in gear you will think of hundreds of other ways you can make a difference this Christmas. We have much to be thankful for. Let's share the blessing.
