Goal Setting for 2011

Tomorrow brings a new year and another opportunity to make resolutions and promises to yourself. Before you make those let me suggest some points to help make the process more realistic.

  1. Make sure the resolution is something that YOU want to achieve and not something others want for you.
  2. Make sure you have the ability to accomplish it in the timeframe you give yourself. In other words make sure you think it through to see how you will bring it to pass.
  3. Make sure you have passion for it to come to pass. Without the passion you ain't got no hope of seeing it come to fruition but it will slip away like so many others before it.
  4. Make sure you have a game plan. Want to lose weight? Ensure you have a weekly plan as to how it will work. Want to save more money? Write down ways to cut expenses, eliminate debts, and look for opportunities to bring in more income so you can put more away.
  5. Make sure you are held accountable. Tell your loved ones about your goals so that they can hold you accountable. That will make it easier for you to achieve them if you know someone is going to bug you about it.
  6. Make sure you praise yourself for every small step you take. Don't judge yourself, accept yourself and be thankful for every little change that takes place in your life.
  7. Make sure you are thankful for all the blessings you have in your life.
Happy New Year.
