With all the unrest taking place in the Middle East and Gulf right now we in the US should be pretty anxious about the situation. A large percentage of our oil either comes from that region or through that region and if the governments start toppling they could be replaced by ones that are less friendly to the US. Right now Saudi Arabia and Bahrain are very friendly to the US and allow bases in their countries. We also obtain a large amount of oil from Saudi Arabia.
If Bahrain falls and is replaced by a more radical government it could seep over to Saudi Arabia which is only twenty minutes away by car. If the Saudi government falls it could mean a huge increase in the price of gas here in the US, or lead to gas shortages. Now is a good time to start praying for the peoples of these lands. What happens there will have a major impact on us here.
